With the requirement in many schools to be flexible with staff along with the creation of EYFS provisions into more provisions, this session will offer an overview to what it means to work in early years with an introduction to the areas of learning, Characteristics of Effective Learning and the role of the adult.

This practical training session will focus on techniques used to evaluate the teaching and learning in your setting. This will include exploring: Sensitive adult involvement and enabling environment. Developing you ethos/principles and vision for your setting with your staff team, Using data to develop your provision and professionals and using data as part of your story of your setting.

A unique opportunity to explore a whole day in the life of an outstanding Nursery School from a child and practitioner perspective. Spend the afternoon shadowing a practitioner and key children across all areas of the curriculum. I’m Tying to Tell You Something! What is the Communication Behind the Behaviour?

A ‘Practice in Action’ session offering an opportunity to think about behaviour in a different way and concentrate on the communication, rather than the behaviour.

The session will include observing interactions and relationships in the nursery, the strategies being used and the impacts on children and discussing common triggers for certain behaviours and acknowledging the feelings of the child. This workshop will include a tour of the Nursery School.

This workshop will also offer an opportunity to view the nursery without children present; therefore photographs of the environment can be taken.
